(COURSE DESCRIPTION & INFORMATION
Geography is the study of people, places, and environments. This course is the companion course to AP Human Geography. (Students do not need to be enrolled in AP Human Geography to take this course.) In it, students will develop and use a range of geographical skills to grow their knowledge and understanding of the world. In addition to map study, the content covered includes the development of man and culture, and continues through the diversities of modern culture. Emphasis is on the interrelation of geography, climate, history, economics and political systems on people. We will compare and contrast cultural regions around the world and examine the interaction of these elements in light of current events and issues.
Course Content
I have established an aggressive schedule in an attempt to get through as much of the book as possible. It will be available on my 180-day planner on my website. In addition to the content of the class, we will also be studying MLA format as it relates to research papers. Please note, the 180-day planner is subject to changes, based upon the process we go through the class.
